Villa offer Capital One value

Aston Villa have had a torrid time in the league but the cup competitions have been kind to them so far and Paul Lambert’s side are two games from a trip to Wembley.

Villa take on Bradford over two legs for a place in the final and they travel to Valley Parade on Tuesday, looking to avoid being the next giant on the Bantams’ bedpost following their stunning win over Arsenal.

The bookmakers are wary of another upset, which offers a bit of value for Villa. Lambert’s men can be backed at 19/20 to take a first-leg lead and that jumps off the page as a decent punt.

It’s not certain who will lead the line for Villa, Darren Bent or Christian Benteke. But it does seem virtually certain that the chosen striker will be partnered by Andreas Weimann. The Austrian went four months without a goal at the start of the season, but since opening his account in November he has netted seven times – including a brace against Norwich in this competition – and he is 6/1 to net the first goal.
