Westwood to fire in the desert
After 44 tournaments, the European Tour season draws to a close with its flagship event: the DP World Tour Championship.
Rory McIlroy is the 11/2 favourite and the world No. 1 could easily blitz the field. But he looked jaded when missing the cut in his attempt to defend his Hong Kong Open crown. At the price, we feel he’s one to avoid.
Lee Westwood is a former winner of the event and holds the course record. The Earth Course demands precision with your irons and we feel Westwood is the man at 14/1.
Paul Lawrie has good form on desert courses, was second in the event last year, and he can contend at a decent price.
Our third dart at the board is George Coetzee, who is yet to win on the European Tour but has four top-six finishes in his last six starts and is in the sort of form that makes him a contender.
